Email Address

We meet at 7pm - every Tuesday and Thursday at Pontypool Active Living Centre, Torfaen - to run together over various distances and terrains.
There is also an additional group meeting at 6.30pm every Monday and Wednesday for a short run of around 5 miles; for all abilities, but predominently those transitioning from First Steps to Main Club nights.

First Steps - our free introductory running group - 6.30pm every Monday and Wednesday at Pontypool Active Living Centre. Structured training programmes to suit complete beginners, taking them up to 4 miles in a relaxed and informal introduction/return to running - more information >>

Pont-y-pwl & District Junior Section - 6.30pm every Monday at Pontypool Active Living Centre

From complete beginners to seasoned, experienced runners, Pont-y-pwl & District Runners caters for anyone who has a passion to run and seeks the company of like-minded people to run with.

"If you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your first or if you've been running for twenty years..

There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get.
- You Just Run". (John Bingham)

First Steps - Monday 6.30pm

We set up First Steps in 2013 - to introduce others to the sport that we are so passionate about. Over the years, with the help of Torfaen Sports Development and Sport Wales, we have developed many members to become qualified confident Leaders. These Leaders are dedicated and committed people, who help others to reach their running related goals

The group is always free of charge and welcomes anyone over the age of 12 years who would like to start or return to running

The format of the Group is set up so that anyone can join in, at any time. It doesn't matter if you miss a week or two, you can dip in and out as you need to - we are always there to help you.

Pont-y-pwl & District Junior Section

In 2014 our Junior Section was set up for under 12's.

We meet at 6.30pm in the park, and train together whatever the weather. The Juniors enjoy exercising in a fun environment, lots of games but also technique skills - they love their Mo Farah 'arms' practice!

They are introduced to the discipline of dynamic stretches to warm up and static stretches to cool down. Under 8's are welcome to join in as long as their mum/dad/guardian remains in the park with us.

Details of membership may be found on our Members page.
